Matches are always held on the 2nd Saturday of the month.
Location:
8046 Yucca Park Blvd. Yucca Valley, Ca., 92256-- On State Highway 62 between Morongo Valley and Yucca Valley, 1 1/2 mile from top of the Yucca Grade, 1/4 mile off the North side of the Highway. Range can be seen from the Highway.
Rules:
Current NRA small bore rifle rules will apply.
Entry:
Registration opens at 7:30am and closes at 8:30am. Firing begins at 8:30. Non-club members are $10.00, members are $8.00. Each competitor will help score and change targets. 2 relays of ten shooters will fire for a maximum of 20 shooters per tournament. Entries squadded as they arrive.
Awards:
By NRA Classification or assigned classification. One award for each of the 3 competitors. Classes with less than 3 will be combined upwards per NRA procedure. If you are a new competitive shooter, you will fire in the highest class of the day, then that score will determine what class you are in for the next tournament. If there are 3 new competitors, there will be a new shooter class.
Equipment:
.22 rim-fire rifle, divided into match and sport rifle categories by the match director. Each competitor will need 100 rounds of ammunition, a mat (a blanket or rug will due) for firing on our non-skid concrete firing line, a spotting scope or binoculars for finding shots on Target, Rifle slings or shooting coats are allowed, but optional. Eye and Ear protection is required for everyone on the firing line.
Course of Fire:
All firing is done at the 50 yard mark. A-23/5 and A-27 targets will be used. Unlimited sighters allowed on the sighter bull, and 5 shots for record bull for a total of 200 within a 20 minute time limit. 4 targets will be used, in the order A-23, A-27, A-23, and A-27 for a possible Score of 800.
Other:
We try to run an enjoyable, fun and SAFE tournament. All rifles will be unloaded and open when anyone is down range. At all times the muzzles will be pointed downrange. No ammunition may be loaded into any rifle until the command "LOAD" is given. Anyone violating these safety rules will be expelled from the range. No smoking on the firing line, in the bleachers or in the range house during the match. Parents are responsible for the actions and distractions of younger family members. No alcoholic beverages allowed on the range or in the park area. In warm weather watch for visiting rattlesnakes. Depending on the time of year, be prepared for hot, warm, cold weather.
